Salman Sufi, CEO/Founder

Salman is the Founder of the SSF. He is an International Public Sector Reforms and Gender Strategy Specialist, and the driving force behind some of Pakistan’s most progressive gender equality initiatives. In the last four years, he and his team have introduced over 30 historic reforms, including the Punjab Protection of Women Against Violence Act 2016, the first comprehensive legislation of its kind ever passed in Pakistan, Violence Against Women Centers, Women-on-Wheels, Motor Vehicle Camp; Tax reforms and social reforms, including Shehr-e-Khamoshan Model Graveyards and legislations to protect senior citizens and transgender persons.

Hafsah Lak, Director Global Partnerships

Hafsah is our Director Global Partnerships. Hafsah brings in extensive experience and expertise working on gender-based violence as well as women, peace and security initiatives in Pakistan and abroad. She was previously the Project Lead for Pakistan’s first Violence Against Women Center in Multan, and has worked on Countering (and Preventing) Violence Extremism programs in Africa and elsewhere.

Adeel Imtiaz Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Adeel Imtiaz brings over 12 years of extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and strategic leadership to the Salman Sufi Foundation. A seasoned finance professional, Adeel is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA – ICAEW) and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). His career began at Ernst & Young (EY), where he gained invaluable experience in auditing, taxation, and financial advisory services.

Following his tenure at EY, Adeel served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Kalamkaar, where he was responsible for overseeing all financial functions and driving the company’s financial strategy. In 2016, he joined The Urban Unit as Manager Finance, where he played a pivotal role in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Adeel’s expertise and leadership were recognized when he was appointed as the Acting Chief Financial Officer in 2022, a role in which he successfully led complex financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing financial growth until December 2023.
