Salman Sufi, CEO/Founder
Salman is the Founder of the SSF. He is an International Public Sector Reforms and Gender Strategy Specialist, and the driving force behind some of Pakistan’s most progressive gender equality initiatives. In the last four years, he and his team have introduced over 30 historic reforms, including the Punjab Protection of Women Against Violence Act 2016, the first comprehensive legislation of its kind ever passed in Pakistan, Violence Against Women Centers, Women-on-Wheels, Motor Vehicle Camp; Tax reforms and social reforms, including Shehr-e-Khamoshan Model Graveyards and legislations to protect senior citizens and transgender persons.
Hafsah Lak, Director Global Partnerships
Hafsah is our Director Global Partnerships. Hafsah brings in extensive experience and expertise working on gender-based violence as well as women, peace and security initiatives in Pakistan and abroad. She was previously the Project Lead for Pakistan’s first Violence Against Women Center in Multan, and has worked on Countering (and Preventing) Violence Extremism programs in Africa and elsewhere.
Zainab Najeeb, Director Strategy & Partnerships
Zainab is our Director Strategy and Partnerships. Having a compelling academic background in Social Sciences with a specialisation in Gender Studies, paired with professional experience in planning and execution of a variety of projects, Zainab is responsible for designing and implementing our projects.
She also supports the team as a Gender Analyst to ensure that current and future campaigns are cognizant of the evolving narratives of women empowerment to ensure the safety, personal development and well-being of all female applicants and participants.

Junaid Shah, Operations Manager
Junaid works as an Operations Manager for the Salman Sufi foundation’s projects focused on women empowerment and citizen facilitation. He has completed BS in Mass Communication and also doing Multimedia Stories as a Freelancer. He has widespread experience in media coverage as well as public relations and has worked with several news organizations subsequently. At the Foundation, he is responsible for handling implementation of all on ground projects including Women on Wheel’s and Saaf Bath Public toilet in Karachi as well as ensuring effective stakeholder management.
